262 Huichol Beaded Lizard
send this to a friendThe Huichol people are dispersed throughout central Mexico. To this day, they practice a shamanistic form of religion that holds visions derived from trance, dreams, and psychedelic drug use as sacred. Both the artwork created with beads and Huichol yarn painting convey the energy of a shamanic seance as various objects representing animals, plants and celestial bodies explode with bright color. This incredibly intricate work is achieved as individual beads or strands of yarn are pressed into a beeswax covered, flat board or free-standing sculpture. Our Beaded Lizard print is a representation of one such amazing Huichol composition.
